Andrew

Most nights we find Andrew asleep on the floor.  It's not even by the door trying to get out or anything, he just prefers the floor I guess.  Funny boy.

The boys got their summer "buzz" cuts.  Sorry mom :)
And Andrew's most favorite toy is his Thomas the Train.  Sometimes, like in this picture, his brother is nice and will push him around.  But most of the time he is happy to just scoot along with his feet and then pull his feet up and coast.  He actually goes really fast across our floors.

Ryan

Ryan tried his hand at baseball this summer.  It was just a 5 session little class, but he had fun.  The instructor was a little too intense for my taste and half the time I was bored out of my mind.  But luckily Ryan didn't notice and was a good sport.

Peanut Butter Bars

For all you Albuquerque school kids who call these "gold bars":

1 1/2 c. Peanut Butter
1 1/2 c. crushed graham crackers
1 lb (4 c.) powdered sugar
1 c. butter, melted

Mix together and press into a 9 x 13 pan.  Melt 12 oz. chocolate chips and spread on top.  Refrigerate and cut into squares.

We love Dad's

What a bunch of lucky kids.

Go 'topes

we went to cheer on our local triple A baseball team, the Isotopes.
We had fun relaxing on the berm after the 5th inning
Mabel enjoyed her seat and nap,
Ryan loved eating his candy,
and it was all well worth the $6 we paid for our tickets.

*For all you Albuquerque people: if you buy two 32 oz. Powerade drinks and take the labels to the game, you can get in for free!

it's not easy getting green

With a lot of muscle and sweat,
we (meaning Spencer with my loving support) dug some ditches,
put in sprinklers,
brought in real dirt,

all for the most beautiful patch of green I've ever seen.

Hallelujah, it's done.  I've got to say that I am pretty impressed with Spencer.  He designed his own sprinkler plan, dug the ditches WITHOUT the use of a trench digger, installed a working sprinkler system, shoveled wheelbarrow's full of dirt, and put down the sod.  All while he had lots of "help" from some little boys and a complaining wife in the background.  What a guy!

For Father's Day I think I'll give him a week off before he is assigned his next project :)

it finally happened...

Andrew and Ryan have the same size feet now.
That means we have to start buying 2 pairs of shoes in the same size.
Sorry Andrew, looks like you got Mom's big feet.

I'm 3 months old!

Mabel is pretty excited about being 3 months old.
she still has chicken legs, but she's working on it.
Enjoying some TV with big brothers.

and her favorite activity as of recently is grabbing her dress and pulling it up.  We haven't had the modesty talk yet.
