The Land of Enchantment

Yep, it's official, we're headed to the Land of Enchantment. I signed the papers and sent them off this morning. It's funny because I've joked with Erin about going to Albuquerque for as long as we've been married. She never took me seriously, and neither did I.
I still have to finish my thesis and graduate, so we'll probably be here til early June. The job is with Sandia in their satellite group. We're especially excited to be only a days drive from both of our parents. We also won't mind a little warmth and a little sunshine. I'm excited to drive through Denver on the way there and pick up our old truck. Maybe we'll see the SHO abandoned on the side of the road and take it too.

A longish video demonstrating some of Andrew's skills: assisted walking, waving hi, dancing, falling, and wagging his head 'no'. This may not be that entertaining to non-Grandparents, aunts, uncles etc., but you're all welcome to watch, he just wants to be loved.

What we were doing over Christmas break...

I realized that I posted DisneyLand pictures with pretty much no explanation. So I thought I would give a run-down of our Christmas/New Years activities...2 weeks later :)

Christmas was spent at home this year. This was the first time Spencer and I hadn't traveled to be with our families. We missed everyone but we had a good time here. Our grandparents live here and so does my sister so we weren't totally alone. On the 23rd we went to my Grandma's birthday party and were able to visit with all our Washington relatives.

We did the usually Christmas Eve stuff...dinner (my family's tradition of stew and rolls), reading from the scriptures, singing, reading Christmas books, opening up one present, and putting out cookies for Santa.

Christmas Day we opened all of our presents and had dinner with Lindsey and her family. This is totally against my nature...but we took down ALL of our Christmas decorations the NEXT DAY! I usually like to have it linger on until New Years, but we were tired of keeping Andrew off of the tree.

I convinced Spencer to stay home the next couple days from school and we loved just relaxing at home. That weekend we drove to Kennewick and I met up with all of my old high school friends for a mini-reunion. It was a blast and I loVed seeing everyone! I'm still a little bitter that my parents moved away.

On New Years Eve we flew to las Vegas to spend time with my entire family. On New Years Day we drove to California and spent the next two days at DisneyLand. It was so much fun and the weather was perfect. I think we were all a little nervous about how it would go with 4 little boys ages 2 and under...but they did great and Ryan and Easton had tons of fun. Ryan still talks about all the "scary rides" he went on. He went on the Matterhorn and another roller coaster in Toon Town. He was very proud of himself when he was done. He loved meeting all the characters and now gets excited when he sees DisneyLand commercials on TV.

I was able to stay in Las Vegas until the 9th while Spencer went to New Mexico for a job interview (more on that later!) and then we met up back in Seattle. I flew by myself with the boys for the first time and luckily there were a lot of nice people on my flight that helped me cart all of my junk on and off the plane.

And last of all...my revenge on US Airways....NEVER FLY ON US AIRWAYS! My sisters family and I both flew US AIrways to Las Vegas and Spencer flew on them to New Mexico. and EVERY SINGLE flight we flew on was delayed at least an hour. They even called on New Years Eve to cancel our flight at 3:00am. It was awful. So since they wouldn't give us any compensation for our bad travel experience, I am getting revenge and telling everyone I know about how bad they are!
