best new find

I can always find great things at Costco, but this is my favorite find.  I have been looking on craigslist for a kids picnic table.  People were asking $40 and they were all faded from the sun.  When I saw this one at Costco I thought it was perfect.  It won't fade in the sun, and it even folds up!  The boys love it and I love feeding them lunch outside so they don't have to come in wet and dirty.

Fathers and one sons

It was the father and sons campout last weekend.  Ryan was very insistent that Andrew shouldn't go because he was afraid he would "burn his body" in the fire.  Spencer was ok with that too.  We love our little Andrew, but we were afraid he would wonder off in the forest or that he would trip and fall into the fire.  When Spencer came home on Friday to go on the campout, Andrew had figured out they were going somewhere and kept saying, "Andrew, camping too!"  I don't know how he knew they were planning on leaving him.  Spencer knew he couldn't leave his little buddy behind, but right before they were about to leave, Andrew started crying and had a bit of a meltdown about something (we don't know what) so I told him if he stayed with me we would go to McDonalds.  The kid loves his nuggets so that was all I had to do to convince him to stay home.  For the rest of the night and the next day he kept saying "Daddy and Ryan camping, Andrew McDonalds".  I think he was happy with his choice.
Ryan's new favorite thing is to take pictures of us.  Cute picture Spence!
Ryan sometimes is too cool for pictures.  I let Ryan pick out a treat to take camping and he was very excited about packing the sour gummy worms in his camping backpack.

Does it look like they were just camping at a city park?  It actually really was up in the mountains.  Spencer said it was the nicest campground he'd ever been too.  I guess that's how the Paradise Hills Ward does things :)

What did you do today?

As  I was unloading the dishwasher this morning, I found a pot of old peas in a drawer with potholders.  Ryan has just started clearing the table for us, and I think he got confused with pot and potholder.

During dinner Andrew stuck a raisin up his nose.  It was gross to get out.  Spencer was afraid we would need tweezers, but luckily my nails are kind of long right now and I fished it out.

Then we pulled Andrew out of his booster seat to find that he was soaked because someone hadn't changed his diaper since noon.  I keep telling Ryan he needs to be better at changing his brothers diapers.  So into the bath we went.

The kids were ready for bed at 7:00 (That might sound early, but I have a strict 7:00 bedtime when Daddy is going to be gone for the night).

And finally I was ready to settle down with some junk food and say goodbye to the gang from Lost for the season.

At the risk of sounding like a total TV junkie, I am always a little sad to say goodbye to the shows that have helped me unwind at the end of a long Mommy day.

Goodbye Friday Night Lights, Heroes, Biggest Loser, Fringe, The Office...

See you next Fall!

The Many Faces of Mabel

That's right, we are a little photo crazy, but can you blame us.  Spencer and I just sit around posing Mabel and take cute pictures of her and tell the boys to go away.  Maybe that's why Andrew threw a ball at Mabel's head 3 times today.  Something to think about.

Mabel's 2 month stats:

10 lb. 7 oz.
23 inches long

Our little Mabel still isn't gaining weight.  At her 2 month check up she had only gained 7 oz since last month.  She has barely gained a pound since birth.  The pediatrician freaked out and told me all sorts of stuff to do, including waking her up to eat in the middle of the night, even though she is sleeping through the night!  I would be worried more except for the fact that Mabel is such a happy and content baby.  She sleeps great, is awake and alert for good amounts of time, is smiling and interacting with us, and has even been rolling over.  Plus, she poops and pees a ton.  If she was crying all the time, or lethargic, or developmentally behind, I would worry more.  I have tried to get her to eat more often, but she just doesn't want to.  So I took her to another Dr. and he was not concerned about it.  He said if she wasn't getting enough to eat, she wouldn't be growing so much lengthwise either and in head circumference.  Hurray!  So from now on if I have a Dr. that says something I don't like, I'll just find one that agrees with me instead :)

Has anyone else had a baby that just refused to gain weight?  what did you do?

When did these kids get so big???

It makes me sad to see how big Andrew looks on his Grandpa's back.  He is really getting the hang of this talking thing and makes us laugh all the time.  Some of our favorite phrases are:
"I don't know!"
"Don't like it!"
"Hold you"  (which means, hold me).

Ryan's new thing is his imaginary friend.  That's right.  I thought only kids on TV had imaginary friends.  His name is "Conet"  What???  Where did he get that?  And he has also informed us that he is a Spirit and so only he can see him.  So he'll be talking and I'll ask him what he is talking about and he'll tell me he's not talking to me, he's talking to Conet.  (In his not so nice Ryan voice).  What a funny kid.  He is also becoming quite the little wrestler and Spencer is thrilled at how much he can throw him around when they wrestle and Ryan doesn't even cry.

Mabel is 2 months!  She is getting really good at holding her head up and has been rolling over from her tummy to her back.  Those big Grange heads come in handy for throwing your weight and rolling over.  All she has to do is lean her head back and over and there she goes.  She has been improving her sleep time and so far her record is sleeping from 10-6:00!!!  That was only once, but it was awesome.

Mabel's Blessing Day

Mabel was blessed on Sunday.  We were so happy to have both sets of Grandparents here with us and the beloved Aunt Allie.  Mabel looked beautiful in the dress her Grammy made for her out of her own wedding dress!  She also had a bracelet made by Aunt Lindsey, a special blanket from her Opa, and wore the booties I wore when I was blessed.
