In our Garden

When we didn't move to Yakima, Spencer's dreams of being a pretend farmer were lost.  Raising goats and having a couple acres of orchards isn't likely to happen in Albuquerque, but we're doing what we can.

We've also being growing another one of these this summer.....

but it won't be ready until March 5th.
(that's right, I'm pregnant!)

oh brothers

sorry andrew.  we were too busy taking pictures to save you from your older brother.  what a sad face!  Ryan isn't really beating him up...he thought they were really just messing around and wrestling.  I think Andrew thought so too, until he obviously was done.

more from the fair

We took so many pictures of the boys in the petting zoo that it had to have it's own post.  The petting zoo actually only consisted of a bunch of goats and sheep running around.  Andrew ran in and went nuts.  He was running after the animals, laughing and petting them.  He is actually pretty soft when he touches them, but hasn't quite figured out certain animal rules.  For instance, touching their eyes, mouths, and bottoms is probably not a good idea.  And somehow he got it in his head that he should give a goat a kiss and was chasing this one goat in circles trying to kiss it on it's mouth!  What a funny kid.  I think he has heard his dad talk about his dream of raising goats a little too much.

going to the fair

It was the start of New Mexico's State Fair this weekend.  We took the boys to check out all the animals and exhibits.  It was great fun.  We saw lots of farm animals....I made the mistake of wearing flip flops.  Walking through the dairy barn in flip flops is a bad idea.  Anyway, the boys love animals so they were in heaven.  At "Old McDonalds Farm" they had the cutest activities for kids.  They gave kids baskets and aprons and had to do "farm chores" and they earned a prize.  Ryan of course was quite serious about it and very concerned that Andrew wasn't taking it quite so seriously.

And just in case you care, my least favorite exhibit at the fair is the room full of all the rabbits kids have raised.  Row after row of scary, red eyed bunnies, just sitting there.  I think next year we should catch one of the rabbits that run through our yard and eat our grass and see if it wins a prize.

5 years later....

...we got married.  happy anniversary to us!  (on August 29th).

*by the way, look at the beautiful grass.  This picture was taken while we were dating at my parents house.  Now that I live in Albuquerque, grass is all I can think about!

our big boy

happy 18 month birthday Andrew!  Last Sunday was a happy day for all...Andrew went to nursery.  We must have made church really unbareable for him because he ran in the nursery door and I don't think he looked back once.

I took Andrew to get his picture taken yesterday.  The kid is the best picture taker ever.  It seriously took only 10 minutes.  He just stood there and smiled.  But that's our andrew.  He is always smiling.  His favorite things recently are cars (Hot Wheels), balls, Legos, blocks, and Elmo.  And of course, he has turned into a book worm like his brother.  He starting to say more and more words.  But his favorite word by FAR is Daddy.  Probably because his favorite thing in the whole world is his Daddy! From the time Spencer gets home from work, Andrew won't leave his side.

We love our Andrew so much!  He is so sweet and we couldn't imagine our family without him.
